Through my 15 years of experience, I have completed grooming school in 1994, worked as a handlers assistant and went from shop to shop trying to find where I fit in. Pet grooming was the choice for me. There’s nothing more satisfactory about bonding with a dog, pampering, or sometimes giving it a fresh new start and seeing how happy the family and the pup are to reunite. Having my own dog and 2 cats, I understand the trust it takes to leave your dog at a groomer and I know the love I would want my pet to have when I’m not there. I know that this shows to my customers and their owners.
I try my hardest to make every appointment personal and as one on one as possible. Lets face it who wants to be locked in a cage all day, I wouldn’t. If you went to the hair salon and your stylist put you in a cage and you had to stay there for the day with the dryers and other clients barking at you it would put your nerves at end, I’m sure. Well thats how a dog feels as well.
Of course some dogs may take longer than others and some days are more hectic than others, but all and all when your pet is on my table, or a staff members table, we make sure that your pet is number one priority at that time. I want your dog to remember a good experience and to have trust and confidence in getting a groom. and comfort in his or her grooming process.
We try to ensure this by making a connection and showing affection to your pet and trying to work with your pets need and fears rather than forcing ourselves or your pet to do something he or she is not comfortable with. A big thing we don’t do is dematt a dog or cat. This process can be painfull and unpleasant to your pet. Each staff member uses her discretion as to whether or not it will be a problem some matts small enough to handle and somtimes its just best for everyone involved to start over again with a fresh new coat.
When your a new customer coming in for your first appointment we will be happy to discuss a grooming plan for your pet that will not only fit your pets needs but your lifestyle as well. Lets face it we would all love to have that gorgeous show dog sitting on his or her pillow all day but in real life that doesn’t always happen. But in our eyes they are blue ribbon dogs and they are loved just as much.
